Summary:
The Shift Supervisor Warehouse will be primarily responsible for supervising production team members assigned to materials processes in the plant, to maximize the profitability, growth, and success of Cummins Power Products. This position works closely with the Production Supervisor to achieve daily production targets in up-fitting engines into power units while ensuring that all safety, quality and documentation processes are followed; and is an internal resource to help set direction and improve capabilities to achieve CPP business objectives. Focus must be given toward efficient and accurate handling of materials to enable continuous flow of the up fit work. This position may be required to work flexible shifts depending on order demand. Reports to Production Manager.
Responsibilities:
Supervise team members assigned to receiving, shipping, material handling, and parts order processes including hire/train/review; oversee the safe and efficient operations of related processes
Support, model and ensure that the team is following the Cummins safety standards and practices and meeting safety objectives
Establish the weekly and daily production targets with the Production Manager and Production Supervisor. Communicate the targets to the team and establish the daily game plan to hit the goals
Monitor and control processes that affect inventory levels, including identification, handling, dispersing, picking, verification, returns, damage defective, and non-conformances to ensure system information is accurate and controlled
Ensure Cycle Count and other inventory accuracy procedures are completed that validates and maximizes the accuracy of the inventory levels in the plant
Measure and report on effectiveness of team activities. Provide leadership support so that CPP is continually improving in the areas of Safety, Cost, Quality and Schedule Attainment.
Coordinate material delivery methods to the line; troubleshoot inventory or delivery issues and otherwise ensure unit completion meets production plan (right part, right time)
Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives with internal teams and our suppliers to help our collective processes and results and achieve balanced systems. Improve efficiencies of plant processes and materials management procedures by installing/arranging new methods, layouts, parts conveyance, systems, cells, etc. Maintain the space, procedures and execution to those procedures. Continually improve the warehouse environment and effective use of space (5S)
Train team members to be able to shift work and/or team members based on production demand needs
Accommodate and support in-coming quality validation work as necessary
Review inventory reports for accuracy, audit and research as needed
Maintain a secure environment to ensure minimal shrinkage
Support warehouse related activities between office and plant as needed
Qualifications:

Education/
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Operations or Business-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook) and willing to learn appropriate Cummins systems and processes (BMS, Custom Reporting, cPPdb, etc).
5
years experience in a parts distribution/inventory management related field.
Experience operating in Lean environment and processes preferred.
Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Fork lift experience helpful.
