You will be taking direction from your maintenance manger.
A maintenance assistant will have a solid understanding of plumbing and electrical systems as well as carpentry, painting and other crafts.
They will be well-versed in all maintenance process and health and safety regulations.
The goal is to ensure the company facilities are well-cared for and supply adequate support the company's maintenance manager.
Responsibilities Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues Check electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems of buildings to ensure functionality Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities with maintenance manager.
Ensure health and safety policies are complied with Perform turnover of apartments, rip and haul of carpet, shampooing carpets, cabinet staining, painting and other repairs as necessary.
Identify actual and potential maintenance problems, that could cause liability or workplace hazards.
Use your resources to take action to handle the problem areas.
Keep the landscaping, grounds and common areas attractive and clean of debris Maintain a customer service centered culture to all residents, families, vendors, prospects and co workers On-call responsibility must be available for emergencies after hours, weekend and holidays Must be able to climb ladders, lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
Must be able to stand, walk, stoop and bend Snow removal as needed Material pickups as needed Skills Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems etc.
Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment Ability to keep track of and report on activity Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Outstanding organizational abilities High school diploma or equivalent Job Type:
