Logistics and Trade Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced Logistics and Trade Manager to report directly to the Operations Manager. The successful candidate in this multi-disciplinary role will be responsible for the strategic and daily activities of the Logistics Team at Atlas Copco. This role will ensure compliance with corporate standards; establish strong processes and controls around the execution of international and domestic shipments; and develop a strategic approach to freight across all business lines within the New Hudson Michigan location.
Responsibilities:
Establish trade compliance program and manage daily execution Identify risks, prevent, and mitigate Customs penalties; respond to US Customs requests in collaboration with Legal and outside counsel Support implementation of procedures at Atlas Copco to assure trade compliant data and procedures in accordance Group and Business Area policies, priorities, and legal requirement Conduct regular freight provider RFPs and coordinate contract negotiations; maximize buying power to reduce cost while increasing value Manage freight provider relationships for LTL, parcel, TL, Air & Ocean freight to include problem resolution Establish overall logistics strategy to include creation of KPIs and objectives, establish long-term freight carrier partnerships, and collaborate with other Atlas Copco entities Confirm and resolve any freight quantity and billing discrepancies Manage shipping personnel's daily activities and ensure procedures are followed per corporate requirements Maintain procedures and documentation as required by internal and external quality standards (ISO, IATF) Fulfill all internal audit requirements Lead Atlas Copco's efforts to streamline freight and shipping process to minimize cost and lead time Provide strategic direction to the Operations Team on efficient domestic and international freight choices EDUCATION:
Bachelor of Science in Logistics / Supply Chain highly preferred; Associates degree with applicable experience required. REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor of Science in Logistics / Supply Chain preferred but will consider appropriate levels of experience Minimum of 5 years logistics and trade compliance experience in international and domestic logistics Minimum of 3 years managing daily shipping activities in a high-volume manufacturing facility Minimum of 3 years working with international and domestic freight
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Supply Chain & Logistics, ProcurementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
